Wildflower Society Etiquette Academy

Our Story

Meet Mellie Reynolds

Founder & Lead Instructor

Mellie grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast surrounded by the kind of gracious living that the South does best — Sunday dinners with the good china, handwritten thank-you notes, and the quiet confidence of knowing how to walk into any room and belong. Those early lessons shaped everything she became.

After years of watching children struggle not with intelligence or talent, but with the simple social tools that open doors — a firm handshake, a warm introduction, the poise to sit at a formal table without anxiety — Mellie knew there was a need. Wildflower Society was born from that conviction.

Today, Mellie brings warmth, humor, and genuine love for children to every class. She has a gift for making kids feel seen, celebrated, and capable — and for turning what could feel like rules into something that feels like freedom.

Our Mission

Manners that Bloom. Confidence that Grows.

Wildflower Society exists to give every child the tools to move through the world with grace, kindness, and unshakeable confidence. We believe etiquette is not about perfection — it is about consideration. It is the art of making others feel valued, and the quiet power of knowing you belong wherever you are.

What We Believe

Our Core Values

Confidence

Every child deserves to walk into a room and feel they belong. We build that from the inside out.

Kindness

True etiquette is rooted in genuine care for others. We teach children to see and honor the people around them.

Character

Manners without character are just performance. We cultivate integrity, honesty, and grace under pressure.

Community

We are proud to serve the Mississippi Gulf Coast — Gulfport, Ocean Springs, Wiggins, and beyond.

What We Teach

A Complete Foundation for Life

Our six-week curriculum is thoughtfully designed for children and teens ages 7–18. Each lesson builds on the last, weaving together practical skills and genuine character development.

Week 1

Introductions & Greetings

The art of a warm, confident introduction — eye contact, a firm handshake, and remembering names.

Week 2

Dining Etiquette

Navigating a formal table setting with ease, from which fork to use to the art of gracious conversation at the table.

Week 3

Conversation Skills

How to start, sustain, and gracefully exit a conversation — including listening as a social superpower.

Week 4

Written Communication

The lost art of the handwritten thank-you note — when to write one, what to say, and why it matters.

Week 5

Digital Etiquette

Navigating phones, social media, and online communication with the same grace we bring to in-person interactions.

Week 6

Poise & Presentation

Posture, eye contact, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing how to carry yourself well.
